Good afternoon, savvy savers! Today finds us with another new, and interesting product review, this time the Living Naturals Yacon Syrup Sugar Syrup Review! As many of my readers know, I am always on the lookout for new, exciting products to review for this blog, and this product is no exception. I have seen similar syrups throughout many local health food stores, in my area, and was excited to try this variation.
To begin, I have taken this syrup for the past three weeks, and was given the opportunity to try the syrup by way of the manufacturer. Moreover, like many of you, I’ve read numerous reports about yacon root syrup, so I was excited to try this formulation. I have also researched this product, and was able to gather that this type of syrup, made from the yacon plant, was used by the Incas for its nutritional properties, and for the past century in Bolivia, yacón root has been eaten by people with diabetes and renal disorders, because of the syrups ability to help regulate insulin levels. In Brazil, the dried leaves of the yacon plant are used to make yacón tea, which is said to be antidiabetic in property.
I have been pleasantly surprised by the taste of this syrup, with its smooth, easy to consume flavor, a mix of anise, brown sugar, and licorice. I have used it both as a natural sweetener in hot tea and coffee, as well as a in icings for dessert glazes! I also love that this product is natural, both quality and purity tested to be free of artificial flavors, preservatives, or binders. Beyond this, the syrup has helped to stave off my eternal sweet tooth and has helped to curb your appetite; I’ve felt  fuller more quickly than on previous supplements I’ve tried; with only 13 calories a teaspoon, helps me stay within my daily caloric allowance.
I have been very pleased with this syrup thus far, and would purchase it again for myself.
